Pain
There are days, when my feet can't hit the floor
I get this feeling, like I've done this day before
I play it back in my mind, but it hurts so bad to rewind, all this time
Then I hear this whisper, this gentle still small voice
Saying, "Remember, in the midst of all this noise
Because I've been, I know pain"
So I remember
You calmed my shaking hands when yours were pierced with nails
You took the hurt for me when they hung you on that tree
For every time you mourned, you wore a crown of thorns
All of my pain you took to the grave
So I don't suffer in vain
One day I can say
It is finished, all my pain, It is done
It is done
When this world takes all the hope and joy I have left in me
Jesus as you said, "Take this cup from me,
Not my will but yours be done"
In my sorrow, your selfless sacrifice is what I marvel
Your overflowing cup took the load that I could not
So I remember
You calmed my shaking hands when yours were pierced with nails
You took the hurt for me when they hung you on that tree
For every time you mourned, you wore a crown of thorns
All of my pain you took to the grave
So I don't suffer in vain
One day I can say
It is finished, all my pain, It is done
It is done
