YUNG CASPER - Refill Day Lyrics
Official

Quiet down, quiet down.
Hello everyone, I want to thank you all for coming to today's Narcotics Anonymous meeting.
I see a couple new faces here today and it's always great to see more people taking steps towards recovery.
To start things off today, why don't we have a new person talk.
How about you, what's your name?
I- I'm Casper
Nice to meet you Casper. Why don't you tell us your story?
Sit down right here, Imma tell you a story
But it's not one full of guts and glory
No this is the story of a young kid
Who fought a huge beast, yeah that's what he did
And throughout the battle, he gave it his all
The monster in question's name is Adderall
It all started off with good intentions
Got a script from the doc cause he couldn't pay attention
Next day's math class in the early fall
What he came to find was a miracle
He could add it all on Adderall
And pay attention after all
But what he didn't see
Was addicts in his family tree
Or the addiction in his genes
Bound to get hooked on his amphetamines
Misuse incurs abuse they say
When one long day to stay awake
The young kid found a brand new way
To feel real great the whole damn day
If he took two of his life changing pill
Everything felt better, felt he had a will
But cause of his genes and he's mentally ill
The young kid was prone to chasing the thrill
One or two, turned to three or four
With every pill he felt so much more
His eyes bulging and his muscles sore
Running out faster than he did before
Til his script was empty in two weeks
Time til refill day never looked so bleak
So long til he'd feel the sweet sweet peak
So he'd look for another way to get his tweak
Through Benzedrex and caffeine
With nicotine and ephedrine
It hardly worked for the addict teen
Even tried to buy methamphetamine
Next refill day when he got his script
He was fiending like a crack addict
Told the doc he needed more of it
Got twice the pills was ecstatic
Misuse incurs abuse you see
Now the addicted kid has twice the speed
Got twice the greed and twice the need
He'd take the pill and plant the seed
Soon his sanity would then secede
Slowly he would come to see
The drug's not innocent like it seems
Reality ripping at the seams
Three of four turned to five or six
He'd do anything just to get his fix
Every month go through his script so quick
Til insanity hit him like a brick
At first it was fine just a couple of times
But the kid was walking a fine fine line
Though he started way up on cloud nine
The knots in his brain would soon untwine
Scared of shadows in the corner of his eye
Watching his back for the FBI
Sit in his room and there he'd cry
All alone hiding from a secret spy
Paranoid delusions to the extreme
Hallucinations as vivid as a dream
Still he'd laugh at it, treat his health like a meme
But the voices in his head weren't on his team
Scared of police and the feds
Things weren't okay in his head
Called the doc to get new meds
Before he thought he'd wind up dead
July was when he'd meet the doc
Months away before they'd talk
So the young kid had a choice to make
Should he take the pills or should he stop
Cause the drug cured more than his focus problem
It made him not sad, no he'd feel rather awesome
The fruit of psychosis continued to blossom
Will he take the pills or will he toss 'em?
"Enough's enough" he thought one day
He was tired of the CIA
Spying on him everyday
So he took and threw the pills away
Done with it all, f*ck Adderall
But soon he'd face the real battle
Getting clean once and for all
Was made harder by the withdrawal
Depression and fatigue were first
But insanity only made it worse
Feeling like he had been cursed
Wishing he was dead or in a hearse
Sleeping all day all the time
And his friends could see that he wasn't fine
But they stuck with him throughout it all
In his crippling addiction to Adderall
Despite his mistakes and his many flaws
They stayed by his side through the pain he caused
But not all his friends were as understanding
They saw his struggle and soon would abandon
Him cause they see a worthless junkie
Not the pain he masks with amphetamine
Not the scars he's hiding underneath
Buried deep below the sweet dopamine
Fast forward to July and he sees his doc
No more Adderall just some antipsychotics
Fixing up his brain and healing the neurotic
Making his thoughts soon be less chaotic
It took some time for Abilify
To make psychosis go bye-bye
Soon to signify that he'd been revived
Still he's classified as a real bad guy
But still he'd try to make amends
With all his friends but it was the ending
Of the story but not quite yet
There's a lesson there please don't forget
Though drugs may seem like the cool hip thing
Or a way to heal all your heartache
They can wreak havoc up in your brain
And slowly make you go insane
So don't do drugs, least don't abuse 'em
And if you do, careful how you use 'em
That's the tale of the addict kid
Please don't go down the path he did
Please don't succumb to addiction
It's a life-ruining affliction
That's my tale hope I told it well
But recovery is a lengthy trail
Days, months, years, even decades elapse
Trying to get better, never turning back
But it's hard to move on without a few mishaps
That's why I'm back here now, cause I had a relapse
Thank you, Casper. That was excellent
