The bloodletter
Painted the walls that keep me here
This weather
Is a fever of three hundred degrees
Rose colored
It poured out of her eyes and her ears
My mother
Was drowning in the summer heat
The pavement was splitting below me
And what I'm told is this pit spares nothing
It takes us all in the end
My mother was caught in the teeth of a hound
Straight to hell, this ditch spares nothing
But we tried to get away from it
