Cherry red stars fall from the white sky
Like blood stained tears from a sympathetic needle's eye
My unemployed heart has a history of assault
Been broken too many times now it only pumps black blood
A half dead dirty dog barks from the other side of town
By the time I hear it howl out its already been put on down
Cherry red stars lets pick them off the ground
Take them to the market sell them by the pound
Or give them to the lady who's never got her way
She can look inside herself then turn to us and say
