The weather that morning suddenly turned
To the kind of an October windy day
I put on my jacket and a new shirt
Filled-up my car and drove northway
I crossed the river down the chain gang bridge
Then two blocks down ninth avenue
On the end of the street, there's a small cafe
That's where my baby stays
She's a Rock & roll woman
A Queen of hearts/cards
She's a tease, a Mona lisa
She got a rock & roll heart
I was driving the area between North Carolina
A tan-wet-women stood beneath my front tires
She drove a cherry-red-Chevy parked to my side
She said: please do enjoy the ride
Forty minutes later we approached the shoreline
And we watched the coloured sand until the sun went down
We grabbed the opportunity to took a drink
On the hood of her car watching her stars & stripes
I met her in a nightclub somewhere in west
The band was playing: a place to lay my head
She could have that dusty look in her eyes
That I always chased
I ordered her drink she declined
Than I explained that she blew my mind
"Then someday", she said
"I'll look back on this moment with deep regret"
And walked away
