Can You hear me when the light's out?
This darkness only fuels my doubt
I rarely see you when it's night out
They try to steer can't find their way out
And you just need to know
And you just need to know
I've gotten tired of sitting
It's cause I'm constantly sifting
Through all the thoughts that paralyze me
Could it be it's all for nothing?
And you just need to know
I've got all these questions I can't seem to answer
Like "why are we still here if they need us out there?"
"Why are the lights on only when we benefit?"
"How often do we cause another sinking ship?"
We take it slow so we'll just sit
We take it slow so we'll just sit
And you just need to know
And you just need to know
I'm on my way out I can feel it in my bones
I'll try to find answers in this desert of unknowns
Maybe next time, we might just get it right
But until then, I'll do my best to stay out of sight
I wonder if certainty is more dangerous than doubt
Cause it seems I hurt you more when I think I have things figured out
Maybe with time, I'll get these answers straight
Really I just hope all these questions aren't a waste
And you just need to know
And you just need to know
