Lately, every now and then
Pictures of what might have been
Eagerly redecorate my walls
Melodies of past content
Symphonies of violins
Echo through the cavern of my hall
Tragedy's a tapestry
That weaves my insecurity
The sirens serenade me, as I fall
Paintings of my memories
Are all that I am left to be
Candlelight ignites the cannonball
Slow subsiding disbelief
Midnight brings the swelling sea
Bodies scattered on the beach breathe in
Winds from waters cascading
Fan the flame that's flickering
To stoke the fire that's dwindling within
