This Town(A Senior Moment)
After having a senior moment
I need to lie down, catch my breath
And kill time until some levity is found
The biggest problem with this town
Is the dog thinks it's a toilet
You don't have to flush
Because if stick around long
Enough you'll get used to getting
Your dreams crushed stomping on shaky ground
There's little industry to speak of
And the drug dealers do their job
With unwavering love
It's doubtful the youth
Will obtain a sense of
Purpose when they reach 51
The solar eclipse is coming
Shortly, not every dark abyss
Looks good in the sun
And then you crawl back
To the deep slumber
You can't fully escape from
This town is a baby
That weeps whenever the residents
Turn their limited funds to slush
