Well she was a waitress all her life
From 16, catered to customer's likes
Working long days & into the night
On that tip money just to survive
Over 6 decades she waited on tables
Continued after she was really able
Knees and legs & she had pain
But raised a family & not one to complain
Made good tips from the people she served
Saved & saved not one to splurge
But she always kept a little in reserve
So she could buy her some diamonds and furs
Oh she liked those diamond and furs
From the tip money of those she served
She pounded those floors for 60 odd years
Thats something she surely deserved
Was to have those diamonds & furs
Well now shes passed and gone
Shes went to that great beyond
And if theres a restaurant up there
High in the air
We know she'll be the one that serves
And she'll be wearing those diamond and furs
