I remember being on the farm one winter, it was like negative five degrees
And I was sitting outside by the fire to keep me warm, staring at the stars
The farm is in the middle of nowhere, there's no light pollution
No air pollution, no wifi, so you get to see more stars than you can imagine
Behind the stars you can even see the feint white blankets of the Milky Way
It's truly amazing
And at the time I remember sitting there and thinking
I wish she was next to me right now
So that she could also see these breathtaking stars
Sometimes, somebody you like can turn into something really special
What started off as best friends at school
Turned into a beautiful relationship that lasted a few years
A week after getting back to a normal city life
I dropped her off at her place one evening and got back to mine
I was thinking about her and those five hundred billion stars
And then I wrote this song for her
And she has no idea I ever wrote it
I think it's going to be a pleasant surprise when she hears this
