In a stable long ago
When stars were shining bright,
Jesus Christ was born in quiet simplicity.
Angels sang their sweetest songs
To fill that special night
While Mary gazed upon Him lovingly.
Shepherds came to marvel at
The peaceful baby boy,
Wise men came with gifts to mark God's prophecy.
All who flocked to see Him knew
Their hearts were filled with joy
For God had sent His son to set them free.
Heaven's bells are ringing,
Angels' voices singing,
"Welcome to this day of days."
Joy and celebration
On this glad occasion,
"Welcome to this day of days."
Nowadays it's different from
That time of long ago.
Candles light the scene of our festivities.
Children sing, their noses tingling
From the glist'ning snow,
While presents lie beneath the Christmas tree.
Take the time to bear in mind
Just how it was back then.
Celebrate the wonder and the mystery!
Jesus Christ was born that day
And He will come again
To share God's love for all eternity.
Heaven's bells are ringing,
Angel voices singing,
"Welcome to this day of days."
(To this day of joy!)
Joy and celebration
On this glad occasion,
"Welcome to this day of days."
Heaven's bells are ringing,
Angel voices singing,
"Welcome to this day of days."
(To this day of joy!)
Joy and celebration
On this glad occasion,
"Welcome to this day of days."
"Welcome to this day of days."
