Lying facedown in the flowers
Picking up the pieces of yesterday
A strange bird flies across the sky reminds me of hours
Spent preparing for this goodbye
Well I will still be on your mind
Come tomorrow
I'll think by the riverside today
But before I go
If I may...
I'll take all the love he gave away
It's alright but then, well who's to say
The ties that bind us...
They stay
I'm alright with games that nature plays
Seeing if a bird is a flying head
Awake at night I sit and ponder
A million ways in which I'm fed
But a crust of bread
I feed myself instead
Always asking what does it do me for
If fate puts a lock on an open door
I believe in God
I want to believe it more
You'll be back in a day or two
You can find me lying facedown in the flowers
Then squinting at the sun and holding the children's hands
Through life in the way I've grown to do
