The summer haze
Is rising from the sleepy valleys
Van the man
Is on the radio
Turning it up
We sing
And we laugh
We get lost in conversation
Then we get lost
We find the coast road
Winding through bend and brow
To mountains tumbling headlong into the sea
To wave after wave of silver rock and salty water
The master's hand
Paints broad brushstrokes
With light and mist
A majestic arc over the coast road
We drive through a summer shower
To a glorious vista
Of golden sands
And rugged cliff face
We are surrounded by the beauty
And the power of nature
Grateful
In the dying light
We stumble over rocks and boulders
To a tiny sandy kingdom
And convince ourselves
That it's ours and ours alone
And with a yard of driftwood
As a pencil
Inside the biggest heart
I write 'I love you'
