A long time ago, From humble beginnings he came
And after all of these years I can tell you he's still the same
He has given his life to help out his fellow man
Driven by faith that it's all part of God's plan

He's been fighting the darkness, so many years are long gone
He's got a few scars, he still continues to press on.
He won't stop his quest until the Lord gives him leave

Love is just what we need to heal all our pain
And when everything else is gone love will still remain
He carries God's love each and every day
He finds those who still suffer and helps them find their way

No he's not perfect, he's the first to admit all his flaws
But in spite of all that he will not stray from the cause.
With His quiet strength, he won't let them stand in his way
