Sarah Brix - Fly Lyrics

Sarah Brix - Fly Lyrics

A little baby bird sits waiting
The day is here the time is nearing
So soon now he'll get to touch the sky
He watches as his family leaps
Floats in the distance past the trees
All he's ever wanted was to fly
Finally the time has come
Steps on the edge and takes the jump
No fear in sight just ready to be free
But the little bird falls to the ground
Breaks his wing looks all around
Sadly there is no one at all to be found
The fear it fills his little head
Knows he will surely soon be dead
Wishes he could be back in his tree top bed

All he ever wanted was to fly
Fly
Fly
A little hopeful girl sat waiting
Couldn't wait to grow up, making
Music 'bout the day she'd chase her dreams
The years went by until the day
She finally got to move away
But life wasn't as pretty as it seemed
Cause no one cared to hear her songs
She wondered if her mom was wrong
Started to think she wasn't made for this
After that the sun stayed dim
Morbid thoughts, her dreams turned grim
Forgot how to feel happy, lost the hope within
The pain it seemed to come in waves
But never truly go away
Wishing she could be that little girl and feel okay

All she ever wanted was to fly
Fly
Fly
Fly
Fly
Fly
A broken, empty girl stands waiting
Finally she's done debating
Looks down at the world from up above
Cause nothing seemed to heal the pain
No liquor, needles, pills she'd take
It stripped away every last ounce of love
So finally the time has come
Steps on the edge and takes the jump
No fear in sight just ready to be free
But as she's falling to the ground
Regret and memories spin around
But there's nothing for her to do about it now
Still the fear it fills her head
Knows she will surely soon be dead
Wishing she could be standing back on that ledge

All she ever wanted was to fly
Fly
Fly
Fly
Fly
Fly
