I was once a slave to sin
Obeying every threat
With all my might I worked for him
Yet all I earned was death
No law obeyed nor deed of mine
Could pay my guilty price
But God gave Christ for righteousness
In Him, I'm justified
There is no distinction
For all have fallen short
Rest not upon religion
Nor on your greatest works
Put faith alone in Jesus
His righteousness is thine
Through His propitiation
God's wrath was satisfied
There's no condemnation
For those in Christ, our Lord
He paid, in full, our ransom
Salvation is secured
For now we see God's righteousness
Apart from the law revealed
Through faith in Jesus Christ for all
Who, by His grace, believe
When Satan tempts my heart to fear
And my old master goads
When terror begs me not to speak
Then all the more I'll boast
I'm not ashamed of this Good News
The power of God to save
The righteousness of God, a gift
For those who live by faith
I'm not ashamed of this Good News
The power of God to save
The righteousness of God, a gift
For those who live by faith
