On the first day of Unleavened Bread
The disciples came and said
Where shall we prepare the feast
For the Easter, at your request
He sent them out into the night
A man with water in their sight
Follow him to where he'll lead
A room prepared for what we need
Take this bread, it is my body
Broken and given for you
Take this cup, the blood of the covenant
Poured out for many faithful and true
I won't drink again 'til the Kingdom's come
When God's glory shines like the sun
At the table with the Twelve that night
He said, One of you will betray my light
Distress filled the room hearts heavy with fear
Surely not I whispered close to His ear
It's one who dips the bread with me
Fulfilling the words of prophecy
Woe to the man who walks that path
It would be better if he never been cast
Take this bread, it is my body
Broken and given for you
Take this cup, the blood of the covenant
Poured out for many faithful and true
I won't drink again 'til the Kingdom's come
When God's glory shines like the sun
The room fell silent, the weight of the day
The shadow of betrayal wouldn't fade away
Yet love and sacrifice filled the air
A promise of grace, a Savior's care
Take this bread, it is my body
Broken and given for you
Take this cup, the blood of the covenant
Poured out for many faithful and true
I won't drink again 'til the Kingdom's come
When God's glory shines like the sun
The wine was poured, the bread was shared
A symbol of love, a promise declared
As they prepared to face the night
His words remained eternal light
