We braved the ocean
Landed distant shores
Claimed for his highness
The natives swarmed us
We opened fire
The death-toll grew higher
The captain blows the horn
There can be no pulling back now
For we are too far gone
Blood aflame, it's a massacre
We form a barrier
Corpses piled high
Rifles reach over
A thrown grenade
Limbs scatter far
A cheer from the men
And through a haze of gunpowder smoke
I see the chieftain raise his arms
Lips move in prayer to an unknown god
A single round bursts through his skull
He falls down, a broken man
Incoherent mumbling, staring straight up
I could not see what it was he saw
But then he smiled, and that was all
We wiped them out
Every last one
Gone in the name of our Lord
