I grew up in a liberal theocracy
Where religion meant more than nationality
Complex delusions of ethnicity were all around
Distorted versions of history
Blood thirsty media confusing me
I took most of it for granted just like everyone else
But power corrupts, nationalism blinds
And for religion I have no words
Together they turned my home into hell
So I guess I won't be going back to Israel
And don't you know we're never wrong
So if you don't like what we do
It's 'cause you're obsessed with your hate for us
And don't you know we must be that strong
And when we act in self-defense
The death ratio is a hundred to one
'Cause power corrupts, nationalism blinds
And for religion I have no words
Together they turned my home into hell
So I guess I won't be going back to Israel
The destructive arrogance was written in our plans
We're plain old colonists, somewhat late
Clumsily trying to hide the blood on our hands
But there's too much blood now
Who's gonna believe us now anyway
'Cause power corrupts, nationalism blinds
And for religion I have no words
Together they turned my home into hell
So I guess I won't be going back to Palestine
