Esau and Jacob, twins in the womb
But rivalry grew, like a storm in the gloom
Jacob deceived, with a stew and a lie
Stole Esau's blessing, as Isaac grew nigh
Dressed in Esau's clothes, with goat skins on his hands
Jacob approached Isaac, with deceitful plans
The voice is Jacob's, but the hands are Esau's, he said
Blessing him as the firstborn, though his heart was misled
Esau returned, with game from the field
But the blessing was gone, his fate was sealed
He wept in anger, his birthright was lost
Jacob fled in fear, to pay the cost
Deceit and betrayal, yet God's plan remained
Through human failure, His purpose sustained
The blessing was given, though stolen it seemed
God's sovereign will, in every scheme
Esau wept bitterly, his birthright was gone
But God's grace would follow, like the breaking dawn
Jacob fled in fear, to a distant land
Yet God was with him, His promise would stand
And so the story turns, with lessons to learn
God's ways are higher, His plans we discern
