Resurrection came after the cross and the hill
Beaten and marched through the streets
On a cross he would be killed
Sentenced to die
No reason why
Crucified upon a cross
Here's how Christ died
Hands nailed down
Feet nailed down
On his heads thorns made into a crown
The soldiers stood by
And gambled away
The garments our Lord
Wore that day
Not on the first day
Not on the second day
It was On the 3rd Day
He Rose!
As two men hung on either side
Two thieves along with Jesus
Sentenced to die
They hung in plain sight
For all to see
Dying slowly
One just would not believe
But both men had a choice which way to go
But only one to be remembered by Christ our Lord
The reward of heaven would not be diminished
When Christ proclaimed
It is finished
From noon to three
The sky was dark
As our Lord suffered and death was not far
And Father forgive them they know not what they do
Our Lord upon that cross to die for you
I thirst he said to the soldiers of Rome
Father why have you forsaken me
He painfully moaned
And bitter wine
Was all he drank
As He suffered on that cross
And into death he sank
Not on the first Day
Not on the second Day
It was on the 3rd Day
He Rose!
The curtain in the temple now torn in two
As it sealed the pact God made for me and you
Jesus taken down from His cross
Buried in a tomb as many thought all was lost
But two days went by and many prayed and mourned
For what they thought was the loss of Christ our Lord
But On the 3rd Day Mary went to the tomb
The stone rolled away from the empty room
She looked inside as two Angels appeared
They said what she was looking for was not here
As she turned away saddened by the loss
There stood Jesus who died upon the cross
Woman why you crying
Were His first words
And it was Mary who saw Jesus first
On the 3rd Day
Not on the first day
Not on the second day
It was On the 3rd Day
He Rose
