Give ear to my prayer O God
And do not hide yourself from my plea
For I am restless in my complaint and I am surely distracted
Incline your ear and answer me
O that I had wings like a dove
I would fly away and be at rest
Behold I would wander far away
I would lodge in the wilderness
For it is no enemy that taunts me
It is no foe that treats me with disdain
But the one who was my friend, my guide and my companion
Who hath the covenant profaned.
I said, O that I had wings like a dove
I would fly away and be at rest
Behold I would wander far away
I would lodge in the wilderness
As for me, I shall call upon the lord
Morning and noon and night without cease
Cast your burdens before the lord and
He will sustain you
Trust in him and he will give you peace
I said, O that I had wings like a dove
I would fly away and be at rest
Behold I would wander far away
I would lodge in the wilderness
I would shelter me from storm and tempest
I said, O that I had wings like a dove
I would fly away and be at rest
Behold I would wander far away
I would lodge in the wilderness
I would lodge in the wilderness
I would lodge in the wilderness
I would lodge in the wilderness
