Oily spectrum glistens
The mirror of color echos
I am contrasted underwater
Can I see past the waste
There are so many clouds
The smokestacks limitless
I drown in the excess
How can I ever be free
I crumble the earth in my hand
My eyes fill with sunlight
Will nothing remain
When I am ashen bone
A solution that doesn't exist
An addiction left unquenched
Offering a drink to a drowning man
A plastic promise I will refuse
The steam rises in the morning
The compost pile is alive
Worms dig through its expanse
And life cries, "alive again"
The solution I seek exists
But not in a glass tube
Four walls cannot contain it
The wind sings its song
Ferocious and fanged
The beast is awakened
At last vengeance spills
The land overflows with blood
I refuse the empty promise
I hail the dawning truth
Enter my soul, spirit of life
That I may clean the land
