Faint impressions of wagon wheels
Upon a dusty road
Are swept away by a twilight breeze
Leaving no trace as it goes
As daylight turns to darkness
The caravan pursues the shadow
Stopping near the river's bank
To set its midnight flames aglow
Clad in her mother's jewels and bands
She has come to dance beside the fire
Her swaying hips and raven hair
Are all that is seduction and desire
No sound escapes her tawny lips
No tears fall from her dark round eyes
And soon she is joined by others
Their faces raised to the starlit skies
Her voice, now strong and clear
Invokes power from within her soul
She casts her spell and sends it out
To take back that which others stole
Like her body and her mind
Her love cannot be owned
The greatest sin is to try
And for that, they will atone
