There's an old family graveyard, way up in the mountains
As a young child my daddy, would take me up there
He kneeled by two tombstones, and looked towards the heavens
With a tear in his voice, I remember his prayer
Dear God up in heaven, miss momma and daddy
For lovin me dearly, and raisin me right
I pray their reward is, a mansion in Heaven
We'll be together at the end of my life
Where have the years gone, Like them he has past on
I try to come back every chance that I can,
With a child of my own, I kneel by 4 tombstones
I whisper this prayer, holding her little hand
Dear God up in heaven, miss momma and daddy
For lovin me dearly, and raisin me right
I pray their reward is, a mansion in Heaven
We'll be together at the end of my life
