What He Stood For
He walked through the crowd, dust on His feet,
A man of the broken, the lost, the weak.
No golden throne, no crown in sight,
Just a heart so bold, it burned with light.
He saw the outcast, the ones left behind,
The sick, the sinners, the blind leading the blind.
He said, "Love your neighbor, even your foe,
What you hold in your heart is what you'll sow."
No banners raised, no kingdom built,
Just grace to wash away the guilt.
The world pushed back, but He stood tall,
For the least of these, He gave it all.
Oh, He stood for the broken, the beaten, the scarred,
The ones life hit a little too hard.
He stood for the outlaws, the lost, the poor,
Knocked on the doors they'd shut before.
He said, "Truth will hurt, but love will heal,
This is the kingdom, and it's real."
He called the hypocrites out on their game,
Said the proud and the rich would never reign.
It wasn't power, it wasn't pride,
But the courage to stand with arms open wide.
The crowds grew loud, the stakes grew high,
But He never wavered, He'd rather die.
He said, "The greatest love is laying it down,"
And that's the weight of the thorns and the crown.
When they hated, He forgave,
When they cursed Him, He still gave.
He said, "The first will be the last,
And mercy outweighs your shadowed past."
