What am I supposed to think
Tomorrow is clouding up this summer sky
Filling my mind with what ifs
To contradict the original reasons why
And it doesn't help to sit on this rooftop
And look right at where I should be now
The horizon mocks me
And lets the sun set in the east
As if my world weren't already so incomplete
The view's great but the distance is too long
Now that perhaps for the first time
I actually know what I want
From life
Where am I supposed to go now
The options they flee from me like butterflies
My disappointment tells me I failed
While everyone else says my options multiplied
And it doesn't help to sit on this rooftop
Where the wind carries news from those who made it
The horizon mocks me
And lets the sun set in the east
As if my world weren't already so incomplete
The view's great but the distance is too long
Now that perhaps for the first time
I actually know what I want
From life
Set the clockworks back another year
And hope that the compass no longer points to right here
