If I suspend my disbelief an hour on the stage
All the world's a timeless show of death and sin and wage
When all the rest is silence and the stars align above
I'm carried like a revenant to the ghosts of all my love
Where all the lives I left behind for someone else to live
Are shadows on a wall performing lines that I believed
I'll pretend and play the thief of subtle youth and time
And hang up in the galleries or gallows for the crime
For in my own reflection there's a truth that sold me out
Of all the traitors that I've known, the worst of all is Doubt
