I saw a leaf fall
Long ago beneath the midday sun
With the slightest breeze, the bronze dancer spun
Yet even now, the earth escapes its reach
Trapped in the case I built where the ground lies
Too far away
At least for today
I climbed the wrong hill
Lost again in search of being found
With the greenest canvases all around
Beneath my eyes lied every path I'd walked
If I could bottle that moment I would, but
The view's less vast
The other side of the glass
Yes, life might pass us by
But we can always try
To wait 'til every moment starts to slow
There is no why
Won't stop us feeling high
Preserved here in forever's amber glow
I watched the world end
For about the fifteen-hundredth time
It fell like rain around ten past five
Like hazy sheets out in the cold night air
I heard it push and pull and move onward
And I'd sing clear
At least it was here
And life might pass us by
But we can always try
To face the world and say oh, so it goes
There is no why
Won't stop us feeling high
Preserved here in forever's amber glow
In my mind
It always felt so fine
To be
A sailor on the sea
Of time
It's flowing round and I'm
So content
In the amber of the moment
