Nolan Sorsby - Noises of Norfolk Lyrics
Official

Well I don't mind the noises of Norfolk
But I went on ahead and moved upstate
On a little farther west
Closer to my hometown
In a cozy cottage estate
I was tired of seeing no mountains
And gazing o'er the Atlantic sea
I went to see the rolling hills
John Denver talked about
Moved to Judea from ol' Galilee
Well the smell of the sea
Is pretty pleasant
With the sound of the ships
Just passing through
But I'm trying to get away
To a quiet place
Where I can speak my mind
About what this world is coming to
Well I left behind my friends and family
The ones in Oregon, and Virginia Beach
I've made the choice to go for gold
And run a deadly race
And reclaim my destiny
Well I don't mind
The noises of Norfolk
The city sounds never bothered me
But a land of peace and quiet
Is a rare and precious gem
With some beautiful friends to meet
When the sand is hot and white
It's pretty pleasant
But the ships that show their might
Just steam on through
But I moved to the mountains with
The gold and Crimson leaves
To find out what I'm going to do
Well I know there's
No rest for the wicked
But at least the stones will sometimes fall asleep
When my life is over
And it's all said and done
I hope there's no promise
I didn't keep
So I don't mind the noises of Norfolk
And there is quite a nice view
Along the bay
But this chapter in my life is o'er
So I will turn the page
And there, I will no longer stay
Well the smell of the sea
Is pretty pleasant
With the sound of the ships
Passing through
But I'm moved to the mountains
With the gold and crimson leaves
Just to get a little
Closer to you
