Nick Johnson - Healing (Interlude) Lyrics
Official

Yeah
Know I had to come on here and say my piece
It wouldn't be a Nick Johnson album
If I didn't come on here
Say something, speak to y'all
To be honest, I really just wrote this song last night
It's October 6th, the tape drop in four days, but
This was heavy on my heart
I felt the need that
It should be on there
So
Yeah
So much information, with no time to save it
So many things tend to get lost in translation
My mind on the run and life testing my patience
I feel so alone with these problems
Man I need to heal
Do you hear me, yeah
Do you feel me, yeah
One thing I had to learn, patience is key
But having patience don't mean sitting round waiting on your dreams
Gotta get up, go get active, gotta make it happen
Cause life gon' keep life-ing and time don't go backwards
Looking at my generation, we healing our traumas
The things we've endured from our mothers and fathers
Societal pressures and family drama
We breaking the cycles and taking it farther
Really praying for the ones making progress in silence
From breaking addictions, escaping the vices
Wiping your tears, keep your head up your highness
Cause you deserve to have the world, but you gotta get right with yourself
Focus on yourself, not the world
Cause the world ain't gon' deal with your pain
Trust me there's more to gain, on the other side of fulfillment and wholeness
And everything grows from the cup overflowing
That's real
It's like when you're on a plane
And they tell you in case of emergency
If something go wrong
And the little thing come down
You gotta make sure you're secure first
And that's the same thing in life
You gotta make sure you're straight with yourself first
Before you try to handle anybody else
I feel like all too often
We try to put our issues aside
And handle what everybody else got going on
And we find ourselves depleted, but
In this life, if you really wanna make a difference
If you really wanna make a change for the people around you
You gotta focus on yourself
And you gotta make sure that you're good first
And then once you're good
You know what I'm saying
You let that cup overflow
And you can handle the things, but um
Nobody benefits from a depleted human being
I mean
Make sure you're good first
That's facts
Dream big elevation, got sleep deprivation
These late nights I'm chasing but days can't go wasted
Got too much potential, I'm blessed I embrace it
If you think I'm stopping you're sadly mistaken
For real
Do you feel me, yeah
Do you feel me, yeah
Ohh
