He wrote His love with His blood, on an old rugged tree
He showed His grace and took my place, there on Calvary
He bore my pain, erased my shame, and then set me free
Displayed His plan, to rescue man, for all eternity
He displayed to me, and all humanity
Just how much He, wanted me to be free
Laid His life down, never uttered a sound
So I could be found, in eternity
He paid the crime that was mine, on that old rugged cross
He took the blame and bore my shame, so I'd not be lost
He took my sin, there upon Him, so I could be pure
His sacrifice paid my full price, my future's now secure
