I've come to fear the silence
When dusk sets in I'd wonder
Will I swim out with you farther?
Would stars collapse on us?
I will find a way
To lead you frame by frame
Calm your mind and stop time
Lie across your fault line
But time is blind
Still I can see you in my rearview
As I wrestle with my thoughts
But even the lights off in the distance
Burn out when they feel lost
The past keeps burning in my head as I
Make peace with what I'm not
It all falls down
And I'm fading out
There's poetry I gather
In eyes that lock then falter
In scenery that renders
In silent touch and sonder
You would find a way
To lead me frame by frame
Calm my mind and stop time
Lie across my fault line
But time is blind
But I still see you in my rearview
As I wrestle with my thoughts
But even the lights off in the distance
Burn out when they feel lost
The past keeps burning in my head as I
Make peace with what I'm not
It all falls down
And I'm fading out
For each suspended notion and thought intertwined
Beyond mental projections and inverted signs
Stumbling in the footsteps of emotions we've quelled
We embrace the broken lines we trace around ourselves
Your eyes
Color in wine
Your eyes
And mine
