Here am I in the forests
Watching as your feet will slip and fall
I told you once with a promise
My arms would catch you should you call
Were you lost, or could you find your way?
Do you need a helping hand to keep your faith
Should you cry, would you wipe the tear
Or acquiesce to memories of time spent here
Your shadow's wake is a tyrant
As you contradict yourself so far from home
If it's not too late for the silence
I'd try and help you see that you're not on your own
Did you hear as I called your name?
I know your thoughts and mine have never been the same
But were I lost, would you be free?
Or would your pathless roads lead you back to me?
Is it hard to be patient when you can't find the time?
I promise I'll be waiting, but do you wonder why
Does the daylight make you thirsty when you're on your own?
Now these forests seem so empty
