[ Featuring Andreas Haakshorst ]
On the first day of Christmas my girlfriend said to me
I told you for a month and two it's time to pick a tree
Like last year we will have to buy one that is thin and dry
And God knows she was right again
On the second day of Christmas my shopping list was done
I'd buy the presents all at once instead of one by one
She said it's risky to rely on just one single store
I said I'd be efficient like I never was before
And God knows she was right again
She can't be always right
My God, she is always right
Why do I put up a fight again
On the third day of Christmas I went out for a drink
I met up with some friends of mine and then what do you think
She told me I was stupid and that I should not forget
That certainly tomorrow morning there would be regret
If just like last year I would only get at four to bed
And God knows she was right again
On the fourth day of Christmas I climbed up to full heights
To decorate our roof with the most colorful of lights
She said I shouldn't risk my life for just a stupid fight
You can't outdo the neighbors even if you really try
And God knows she was right again
She can't be always right
My God, she is always right
Why do I put up a fight again
On the last day of Christmas I went and made a vow
That next year in December I could promise here and now
I'd learn from all my past mistakes, be early as a bird
I'd buy so nice a Christmas tree that it would be absurd
She said that she would like to but she'd not believe a word
And God knows she was right again
