MORRIS RANDOM POET - The Sport of Life Lyrics

MORRIS RANDOM POET - The Sport of Life Lyrics

The sport of life Is hard to play
Rules are changing, every day
You think your right You turn up wrong
Can't keep up, For very long
But if you turn, to look back
Your enemies will soon attack
The wrinkles start to grow and grow
You mind begins to work slow
The things you know are fleeing fast
Hope for retirement at long last
If you live until that day
Nice to know you is all they'll say
Soon forgotten all you've done
Mind and body become one
Both are weakened by the years
Thinking back, you fight the tears
Body broken and so frail
Nothing left for you to tell
Grieving family gathers round
Making only muffled sounds
They can only stare and stare
Not Knowing you'll soon be gone
Waited for so very long
You're so tired the time is near
Just relax and have no fear
An Angel whispers soft and low
You've arrived it's time to go
Draw in deep and see the light
All the darkness is out of sight
The beam draws you oh so near
Till an image will appear
With a touch you regenerate
Now you know your true fate
If you believe with all you might
You will find what is right
He said it will be so
There's nothing else to know
He said believe in me
And if you do you will be free
If you believe with all your might
You will find what is right
(And you will be free)
Listen to me
(Listen to me)
Free so free
(Free so free)
