MORRIS RANDOM POET - The Old Man Joe Went to Australia Lyrics
Official

The old Man Joe went to Australia
To see what he could see
Saw a Tasmanian devil
And threw him in the sea
The devil came back running
Joe tried to flee
The devil spun round and round
And latched on to his knee
The old man turns and there's
A Koala bear in a tree
Gave him a eucalyptus leaf
An then set him free
Went to bar for a beer
To play a game of Gubbins
Gubbins helped him win
Then they done him in
Pretty soon along came a Vactic
To help save the down under
Unfortunately, his Vactic lost the war
Joe racked up another blunder
Over in the corner a girl was playing
The game Stray Gods for free
To which he tried to join
He didn't want to ruin her chi
On the bar stood a Dingo
Drinking a Coopers Pale Ale
Gave Joe a Dingo wink
While wagging his tail
A vender said Hey Joe before you go
Have some Vegemite stew
And maybe A Beck or two
It will be good for you
The band was Playing Midnight oil
With a Gum leaf and a Didgeridoo
While an Aborigine girl danced
For a Belgium boat crew
Bats began flying everywhere
Eating all the berries there
A kangaroo hopped to the beat
While the Emu stomped his feet
The band play Waltzing Matilda
Mole crickets chirp to the sound
The Mistletoe bird chirped along
To the Kookaburra song
Soon a Man came by to say
Would you like to see wallabies
They broke into the opium field
Now their high as the Marley's
They do this all the time
It's funny yes that is so
Making crop circles
We tell the tourists it's U F O's
Now if that won't make you laugh
We'll see the Quokkas
When you take their picture, they smile
Then the fun begins
Joe strolls down by the river
To see the world's biggest croc
As a Feral Camel gets too close
A croc jumps and the camel is in shock
Dingoes they do howl
Enough to make you shiver
The camel is safe once more
The Crocodiles back in the river
Back at the bar Joe reflex
On the Day in the wild
With a Goon full of Fosters
Won't be going home for a while
The night passes on by
The birds they do fly
The beer it does flow on
They all join in song
There once was a man
From a far-off land
Came to see the Aussie shore
And he may never leave again
Sing a song then one more
Another round to even the score
Then I'll buy just one more
Till we all pass out on the floor
Sing a song then one more
Another round to even the score
Then I'll buy just one more
Till we all pass out on the floor
One more
(One More)
One more
(One more)
(One More)
(One more)
Oh no Old Joe is gone
Well sing another song for joe
For joe (One more Joe)
