Monkeyjam - That said Lyrics

Monkeyjam - That said Lyrics

Heaven must be missing an alien. It's not something to be ignored, or else taken too lightly
Heaven must be missing an alien. And please excuse me for, speaking a bit too forthrightly.
I thought we had clicked, now I'm distraught at being tricked by those feminine wiles, those enigmatic Mona Lisa smiles.
The words from those pouting lips, better left unheard, the thousand ships that were launched by your face have all sunk at the docks without trace.

That said, let's not waste our time. You're something of an acquired taste and I'm somewhat intrigued by you.
So tell me now, what d'you think of me?

Heaven must be missing an alien. I don't want to make a show, and I'll try not to start to.
The points you made are all salient. And I don't even know why I'm bothering to argue.
We got off on the wrong foot, but I'm not trying to be offputting or condescending. I could build a bridge from the ones that need mending.
I thought I'd lit a spark, that I'd fired a shot and hit the mark but I was firing blanks against a squadron of chieftain tanks.

That said, I've lost my place. You're something of an acquired taste, and I want to believe in you.
So tell me now, could you believe in me?
Would you believe in me?

I don't want to be attention seeking. All I am is a sentient being
So why d'you treat me with such disdain? Do I have to go through all this again?

Heaven must be missing an alien. And I know that you've been blessed by some kind of inner vision.
Maybe I've just been taken in. But now I've got things of my chest, can you come to a decision?
I'm not so complicated - a little flat, and understated, but that's all there is .. there's nothing more to me than this.
You're so sophisticated - a little gauche, emancipated and free as the air like a Wordsworth poem I read somewhere.

That said, just in case you care: you're something of an acquired taste and there's no-one for me but you.
And, God willing, there's no-one for you but me.
No-one for you but me.
No-one for you but me.
