I'm just a Little Soldier
With a rifle on my shoulder
I don't have the guts to stay
And I don't have the guts to run away
So I better pray
And hope for that tomorrow
Somehow will get me out of this decay
While I'm in the trenches fighting
Hoping I might do the right thing
Everything that comes to mind
Are my fellows on the other side
Better run this time
Or I'll end up in Geneva
Where I probably must answer for my crimes
And I ain't got no Home
And I ain't got no Lawn
And I ain't got no Tree where I can swing along
I'm just a Little soldier
Everyday I'm growing bolder
Got no limits anymore
I'm not as fragile as I was before
You can rest asured
That the Kaiser will be pleased
'Cause in a Jiffy I'll be coming back for more
I'm just a Little soldier
Thankfully I'm growing older
I don't wanna waste my Life on fighting
Nor for justice or for truth
'Less I get some proof
Because the young men with their faces in the mud
is such a total waste of youth
And I ain't got no Home
And I ain't got no Lawn
And I ain't got no Tree where I can swing along
I'm just a Little Soldier
With a rifle on my shoulder
Got a bullet in my chest
I'd better but my weary had to rest
Think I lost the test
But if God Almighty's up there
In a Jiffy I'll be off on my next quest
