The life out on the water
All about thieves and slaughter
How do they give up their guilt?
How can their morals just wilt
I'd like to follow suite
Putting the real world on mute
To know whats so alluring
And answer that certain something
Something about the sea calling my name
Is it the beauty or is it my shame
The possible danger is really my game
Maybe the call is more like fight or flight
Another quick escape from when things get tight
If only I'd known that I'd still face the bite
I'm trying to outrun the daily grind
To see what in this world i could find
But I can't find it in myself to leave
Split minded control that neither will relieve
Well whats in this life that I find so harsh?
Maybe its the bites that aren't so sparse
Could it be better life out at the sea
Escaping the rules and living carefree?
Too bad its the modern day
Big brother no getaway
Everything's known
And everything's shown
Why must the bite be so rough
In my mind I've had enough
No pain no gain
And that would explain
Something about the sea calling my name
Is it the beauty or is it my shame
The possible danger is really my game
Maybe the call is more like fight or flight
Another quick escape from when things get tight
If only I'd known that I'd still face the bite
