A little boy on the platform wants to know the facts
'How many stations does this train stop at?'
And I am wondering the very same thing too
When will I get to really know you?
It feels like each barrier I break
Another one springs up in its wake
When we come to the station I think is my own
'There's more to come', the conductor moans
But will you nod your head to my song?
Will you make this train journey half as long?
Because I'm not that strong
Who are you inside?
Don't hide
Inward cries and open skies
The unfurling knots of painful ties
You're the one who taught me it always takes time
But what if this goes beyond reason or rhyme?
What if we're walking on parallel lines?
Cutting across and intertwined as the station clock chimes
But will you give me some kind of sign?
Am I near or far from your mind?
Because I'm not that fine
Who are you inside don't hide
Because I've realised
I've loved you for some time beyond reason or rhyme
But not beyond the yellow line
