Held back by the choices I've made
My past still present till this day
These mistakes leave a trail of regret
Clouding my mind with things I will never forget
These years have come with a price
I wear my scars but the pain is best seen through my eyes
Frustration and no one to blame
Looking back at time I see that nothings changed
Everything till now has been a fight
I've become proof of never ending struggles
From one thing to another
This seems like it will never end
We've been through it all how worse can it get
Been here before tough times hard to forget
There's been too much to mention no lights empty stomachs
Trying to look out for myself and everyone else
There has to be more than this
I know life wasn't meant to be this bad
But all this is a constant reminder to never forget where I came from
I'll keep my head up and stand strong
My search for better times is now gone
Never forgetting where I came from
