Watching the scorpion
Brooding for nourishment
Fire is eating her
Guilt is her punishment
Wounded she witnesses
The wonder she coveted
Drifting, whispering
Desperate in the dark
Lovelier mercy shown
An evening owned in cold
The moon took his chance
And murdered innocence
The ocean swelled and grew
Her arms reached and knew
The burden of the fee
Paid through misery
Love she cries
Suffocates the mind
Fountain flow
Drowning all her woe
Falling rose
Beating wings on air
Fly her home
Take the lighted road
Left with a broken heart
A hole filled with rain
The flames are closing in
The evening starts to wane
Singing voices heard
The air is floral song
She smiles at the word
Which spells a name out long
And she's watching the fire glow
Stinging regret and shame
The spirit inside of her
Is haunted with living pain
And joy has abandoned her
Let melancholy reign
If you are to see her
Tell her of her name
Love she cries
Suffocates the mind
Fountain flow
Drowning all her woe
Falling rose
Beating wings on air
Fly her home
Take the lighted road
