Matter - Soliloquy Lyrics

Matter - Soliloquy Lyrics

I'm Stranded on a lonely road
This is my soliloquy
I'm Stranded on a lonely road
This is my soliloquy

I Don't know what to say
Don't know what to do
The world is very blind
We have covered up the truth
Rewind the hands of time
I'm reverting back to history
Revisiting the crime
All the hatred and the bigotry
Religion paints a picture of a God
Who's on a killing spree
I find it kinda odd
That everybody thinking differently
Is labeled as a sinner
Man that shit just doesn't sit with me
I'm stranded on a lonely road
This is my soliloquy

Searching for a simile
To tell you what I'm feeling
Like my world is caving in
And I'm trapped beneath the ceiling
I am shouting all these words
But nobody seams to hear me
There's a price for everything
Even seeing very clearly
Some say ignorance is bliss
And I wonder if it is
I remember as a kid
Feeling so free
Now I seem to overthink
Feel the need to have a drink
Every choice is very big
Like Sophie's
Oh please
Father forgive me
For I have sinned again
I don't believe in you
Or in anybody's innocence
Don't know what is true
But I'm not a f*ckin idiot
I cannot understand
How people follow the illiterate
It seems
People would rather listen to gibberish
Every songs the same
If you happen to be different
Doesn't really matter
Cause the masses aren't interested
Or maybe all this chatter
Is me lashing out in bitterness
Maybe I just wanna feel significant
Maybe music's more about emotion
Not so much about the intellect
Maybe I should go and light a cigarette
Maybe I should speak about the hood
And how I'm gangsta
Just to get respect
I don't know anymore
I don't know I don't know
I don't know anymore
I don't know I don't know

I Don't know what to say
Don't know what to do
The world is very blind
We have covered up the truth
Rewind the hands of time
I'm reverting back to history
Revisiting the crime
All the hatred and the bigotry
Religion paints a picture of a God
Who's on a killing spree
I find it kinda odd
That everybody thinking differently
Is labeled as a sinner
Man that shit just doesn't sit with me
I'm stranded on a lonely road
This is my soliloquy

Sometimes I just feel
Like I got no place
In this world
Like I don't know
Where I fit into this puzzle
What size am I
What shape
What kinda person do I really wanna be
Am I ever gonna make it
Am I gonna manifest my potential
Ya know
I try to lay it out
All over this instrumental
It's essential
Grabbing this microphone
And releasing these feelings
Keepin it real

I wear my heart upon my sleeve
I wear it for the world to see
I know there something calling me
I feel it in my gut
I'm never gonna fold my hand
I know that I don't know the plan
Not over till it's over man
The best is yet to come
I wanna see the positive
But tend to see the negative
Religion is a sedative
There's many types of drugs
They claim that it is medicine
That everything is heaven sent
You cannot question anything
Until your brain is numb

Ya know
I'm not here to judge anybody
I can only tell you my story
I can only speak for myself
And I can tell you
That I started a journey
At 15 years old
Where I was seeking for God
Looking for Him in books
And in religion
And in Leaders
Only to realize
That the real divine spark
Exists inside my own soul
Inside my own spirit
Inside my own heart
Yo

I Don't know what to say
Don't know what to do
The world is very blind
We have covered up the truth
Rewind the hands of time
I'm reverting back to history
Revisiting the crime
All the hatred and the bigotry
Religion paints a picture of a God
Who's on a killing spree
I find it kinda odd
That everybody thinking differently
Is labeled as a sinner
Man that shit just doesn't sit with me
I'm stranded on a lonely road
This is my soliloquy
