Long days, summertime
I guess I stayed up too late last night
I probably should go home and get some sleep
But why would I if I'm at the beach?
Palm trees, sun's out, hanging out in Socal
Hanging with my friends, we got summer on the focal
All this free time, don't know what to do with ourselves
But we make do with ourselves
In the parking lot, we're all free, at dusk
Not a care in the world, it's only us
The sun sets and we watch the moon rise
But someone asks for the date and then I realize
Summer's about to end and we go back to class
People wonder where I've been but when they try to ask
Summer becomes a place somewhere so distant
And all of the nostalgia makes me prolifically miss it
Sun sets on summertime
Sun sets on summertime
Sun sets on summertime
It's over, summertime
There's no more summertime
Thought bout you all summertime
Nine months, next summertime
Sun sets on summertime
