With no wind beneath my wings
No air in my lungs
No ground to stand on
Just a hole I dug
Trading favors with people I don't know
My work isn't my own
And the skeletons in my closet are overgrown

While looking for my shadow
I began my quest to lose myself over and over
And live with what was left
Near the end, I was down to my teeth
Til they took a chunk out of my sylph and screamed "bon appetit"
And as they screamed, my tongue began to stretch
It reached for the light but landed on the desk
As I licked the varnish, I tasted the stain
Thought about the other me and why things had to change

And when I woke I looked more like you
Smelled like lavender but felt like a shoe
After a thousand miles, we still got two to go
I could use a slip n slide or a strong ass cup of joe
And if you thought I've been making no sense
