lost boy found - The Foolish and the Wise (Selected Scriptures) Lyrics

A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes,
Mocks at reproof and rejects the wise.
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes,
Reckless and careless, he stumbles in the dark.

A man who remains stiff-necked after much reproof
Will suddenly be shattered beyond recovery.

But the wise will inherit honor,
They walk with God, they turn from evil
The LORD is their confidence, their shield and strength,
Their path leads to life, peace, and rest.

A wise man listens to counsel,
Whoever heeds correction is honored.
He who walks with the wise grows wise,
Turning from evil, fearing the Lord.

Discipline is harsh for him who leaves the path;
He who hates correction will die.

But the wise will inherit honor,
They walk with God, they turn from evil
The LORD is their confidence, their shield and strength,
Their path leads to life, peace, and rest.

A fool repeats his folly, again and again,
A companion of fools suffers harm.
Pride goes before destruction,
And he laughs in ease, blind to the fall.

The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God,'
Just like the man who said to himself,
Soul, you have ample goods laid up for years;
Take life easy, eat, drink, and be merry.
But God said to him, "You fool! This very night,
Your life will be required of you.
Set on slippery ground, deceived by ease,
Cast down to ruin, and suddenly destroyed.

But the wise will inherit honor,
They walk with God, we turn from evil
The LORD is their confidence, their shield and strength,
Their path leads to life, peace, and rest.

Let the fool take heed and turn,
For pride goes before destruction.
But "the wise inherit honor" and by believing in Jesus they find their rest.
