She stared into the darkness
Of an alleyway lit up with strings of glass
Her hands deep in her pockets
She's playing with her hourglass
He came up behind her
Whispered something in her ear
She turned around, hoping
But he had disappeared
And that's when she said:
I've been on this road a little too long
I've been running way too fast
So scared of all the answers
To questions I've never asked
I've flown next to eagles
Flown straight into storms
Been pushed higher and higher than ever
Just to crash and burn once more
She stepped out from the darkness
Looking for another path
Praying for no more windstorms
Praying for something that would last
That's when she saw him
Riding down the road on a horse
He jumped down and smiled
She said, "what are you looking for?"
And that's when he said:
I've been on this road a little too long
I've been running way too fast
So scared of all the answers
To questions I've never asked
I've flown next to eagles
Flown straight into storms
Been pushed higher and higher than ever
Just to crash and burn once more
She smiled, back at him
They agreed to fly away from the storm
Hoping the other was the answer
To what they had been searching for
And that's when they said:
We've been on this road a little too long
We've been running way too fast
So scared of all the answers
To questions we've never asked
We've flown next to eagles
Flown straight into storms
Been pushed higher and higher than ever
Just to crash and burn once more
They stepped out from the darkness
Into an alleyway lit up with strings of glass
