38th and Meridian street, there's a park with a set of swings
And looking out I see the neighborhood
In front of me, see the workers pour their
Soft concrete by the tennis courts
Whose chain link doors are open wide today
Looks like change is on the way
Listen to the wind slowly blowing in
Through the canopies above me
That paint the streets red, yellow, green
The colors in the air slowly take me there
I can see it, I can see it
All that we could be from the swing set
On the cemetery stones, the windows of the high-rise homes
Reflecting that November sun to shine
Down the road from the governor's house
The porches grow and the folks go out
To take a walk as evening turns to night
Don't know why but something feels alright
Listen to the kids running through the streets
As the school lets out early to celebrate just living
The strings that make the chords are better than before
I can see it, I can see it
All that we could be from the swing set
38th and Meridian street, there's a park with a set of swings
And looking out I see the neighborhood
