Two little birds
Tethered to the soul
One went it alone
One fell beside the stone
Too many times
Their lines intertwined
Weaving heaven to earth
With one fumbling in the dirt
Forgive my fragility
No it doesn't come easily
Like it did before
While I tend this broken wing
I know the birds will still sing
For the new dawn
I've been inclined
To give up on the ride
Let the angels steer the wheel
But my fears seem to steal
All that shines bright
The light that's in my life
The love you're keen to give
Is the way I want to live
So I'll let my sorrows lie
Cause I wanna see you fly
I couldn't crush a little bird
Cause I know how it can hurt
I wanna watch you soar
Like you've never been so sure
I'll hold the open door
Cause you hold the key to the cure
Two dancing kites
Still in mind but out of sight
And yet I feel the draw
While I sketch another storm
I'm scared I may let go
When my panic starts to show
But he asked me to hold tight
To brave the colder nights
So I'll let my sorrows lie
Cause I wanna see you fly
I couldn't crush a little bird
Cause I know how it can hurt
I wanna watch you soar
Like you've never been so sure
I'll hold that open door
You hold the key to the cure
Oh stupid vulnerability
Why's it never come easily
Like it did before?
I've been tending a broken wing
Hoping one day I will sing
With the new dawn
